The Aragon region is flanked by the Ebro mountain range
in the north, and has luscious green valleys but a distinctly
barren south.
Its capital, Zaragoza, is popular for its numerous
sites, with most of Aragon's population residing in
this town. Zaragoza's museum is a treasure trove of
Roman and Moorish history.
Other than Spanish and a few local dialects, an Aragonese
tongue is also spoken in the Pyrenees valley.
Aragonese cuisine includes sumptuous seafood like
crab paste and roast lamb. The region is rich in folklore
and superstition, and people here believe that crabs
and undercooked sea fish, steamed in the same saltwater
they were caught from, will help prevent illness.
The secluded peaks and valleys of the Pyrenees reveal
unscathed beauty. In fact, these inaccessible, yet untouched
and breathtaking landscapes are Aragon's primary assets.
