Can Picafort
Can Picafort is located in the province of Majorca approximately 60km from
Palma airport and thus easily accessible from most parts of Spain.
Can Picafort will appeal to the culture vultures among you as there are over
a hundred historical sites here dating back to the Pre-roman era.
The Son Real Necropolis is perhaps one of Can Picafort's most famous historical
sites. However, the Parish church of Santa Margalida is also a must-see!
Another first class attraction is the nature reserve in the Son Baulo area
which is home to several rare species of flora and fauna. The ecological significance
of the reserve and indeed the surrounding area draws nature lovers from all
over the world.
Most sports are available in Can Picafort such as go-karting or horse riding.
However, you may prefer to sit on the promenade in one of Can Picafort's many
restaurants and bars and simply watch the sun go down.
Shoppers will enjoy the Tuesday weekly market and the old fishing hamlet (now
a chic, upmarket area) is also worth a detour.
