The fourth largest among the seven Canary Islands,
Lanzarote is undeniably the most unusual among
them.
Its interiors lunar landscape with volcanic craters,
tunnels and lakes make it unique, "Land of a Thousand
Volcanoes", in contrast to the relaxing beaches, tourist
resorts and hotels.
Beyond the volcano theme, the beaches around EL Papagayo
are perfect or sailing, windsurfing or scuba diving.
Out and about head towards the vineyards of La Geria
where vines are grown in pits of volcanic ash with virtually
no soil.
Or enjoy a day at a theme park such as the Rancho Texas
Park at Costa de Teguise to enjy a flavour of the the
old wild west with animals and country and western nights.
