Lleida is a provincial capital that is in an area with surrounding hills, and
in the town you will find cobbled streets and attractiosn that include historic
buldings and palaces.
It also gives you the chance to try the local wines and sea food- not to forgetting
the signature dish of a La Llauna rovince - baked snails.
The old quarter of Lleida has the cathedral of Seu Vella - made of yellow
sandstone - and the castle of Gardeny to visit.
The River Segre offers the chance of a leisurely boat trip.
Nearby to Lleida is some of the best ski resorts in Spain, such as Baqueira-Beret
and Port del Comte
Lleida has busy sporting calendar, with basketball being popular here. The
red-letter day in its festival calendar is the Aplec de Cargol, very typical
of Lleida when loads of snails are eaten.
