Manises
Well known for the 'Azulejos' or the distinctive blue and white pottery, Manises
is home to countless appealing buildings and monuments.
The Plaza de Manises, in particular, is located in the centre of the town and
flanked by elegantly structured buildings including the government offices.
The Palacio de la Generalitat is evidence of Valencian Gothic architectural
splendour and well worth a visit.
The Palace del Marqués de la Scala is a colourful combination of Baroque, Gothic
and Renaissance architecture. The neoclassical parochial church is yet another
noteworthy attraction of the town.
However, the Manises Municipal pottery museum is perhaps one of the best tourist
attractions in town. The rare ceramic pieces inside this 18th-century building
tell the tale of the evolution of local pottery making. You'll also have the
chance of purchasing the pottery in one of the local factory outlets before
leaving.
